A Little Bit Tarty

...a little bit tarty... all began because I couldn't find "tarts" (aka melts) that lasted at a reasonable price so I decided to make my own. You can be sure when you purchase our products you are getting exactly what I would want for myself.

Early in 2008 we began making our "wax tarts" with natural soy wax. I had been reluctant at first to try soy as I constantly received very conflicting information about which soy was best and why I should even bother changing. It was a true labour of love, very late nights researching and testing different brands of Soy wax and other natural waxes. The more I researched and tested the more I came to understand that all the conflicting info was correct as no 2 soy waxes seem to perform the same way. I also discovered that some companies actually use parrafin or synthetics fillers in their soy wax which kind of defeats the purpose of using "natural wax". So after much trial and testing I found a beautiful soy wax that is 100% natural with no hidden nasty stuff and it really does perform as well as I had hoped.

...a little bit tarty... is based at Woody Point and our products can be found at The Eumundi Markets or Online. Our store at Eumundi is open Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am-1.30pm

Wherever possible we use local and Australian companies to provide us with all our supplies.

I love every minute of making my product and it is such a joy to share it with you. I hope you love your "soy tarts" and candles as much as I love making them.

Hi my name is Amanda Lapthorne and I am the Sweet Mumma behind Sweet Bubba. I have two beautiful Sweet Bubba's myself which were the inspiration for Sweet Bubba Eco Store. Ever since they were born (they are 3 and 18 months) I have just wanted to offer them the best I could get my hands on from organic baby skin care, organic and cloth nappies, and organic clothing to BPA free baby feeding bottles and lunch containers. Plus beautiful, nutrient rich organic produce from local markets.

 

I have been searching for reasonably priced organic, natural and chemical free skin care products, organic clothing, organic and cloth nappies and BPA free containers in one convenient and easy to navigate location. Whilst I found a few where the prices were reasonable I found the added cost of postage to make them cost prohibitive, so decided to start a store that offered a range of discounts on these products plus free postage within Australia.

 

Whilst I have stocked some big name products like bumGenius and biobaby organic cloth nappies, thinkbaby and Green to Grow BPA free bottles, Sckoon organic baby and children's clothing, Cherub Rubs and GAIA organic and natural baby and children's skin care products, I am also looking for unique products that aren't found locally or quality items made from other WAHMs that I have tried on tested on the Sweet Bubba household.

Comfort Works is an online workroom for everyone to click to make fabric covers;

Covers for your windows, your ikea sofas, bed covers, any-size-you-want pillow and cushion covers.

The industry of ‘custom-made’ is well-known for "high-end prices". At Comfort Works, we strive to challenge this convention, by being more careful with money and not letting a single thing go to waste (good for you and the planet), hence ‘Custom-made-at-ready-made-prices’.

We started out by creating a tidy, easy to use online workroom and providing a handpicked selection of fabrics from all around the world for your tailor-making perusal. You then design your own covers, relax for 4 weeks, and insert the covers yourself as it arrives at your doorstep. By selling online, we’ve eliminate nosy (read: commission driven) sales agents, and by manufacturing our products as close to the point of consumption, we’re able to get prices lower.

Comfort Works is driven by a passion for design and high quality craftsmanship. We make no compromises when it comes to designing and producing our family of products. In an effort to serve home lovers and Ikea-fans, we are constantly challenging ourselves to produce unparalleled tailor-made covers. No matter how you define your style, your passions or your budget, our business will make sure you’re well covered (pun intended).
